Catering butcher, Aubrey Allen is celebrating UK Sausage Week and will be highlighting a few of its favourites for this time of year in particular.

Aubrey Allen produces over 30 different types of sausages all year round but told Meat Management: “We’re fully behind UK Sausage Week and congratulations to all the winners.”

Fellow catering butcher, Owen Taylor & Sons, supplied the sausages at this week’s celebratory lunch at Butchers’ Hall. The main course was Taylor’s Country Special Sausage. Managing director of the business, Richard Taylor, said: “It was a fabulous occasion which I thoroughly enjoyed and was honoured and pleased to provide our product for some of the country’s leading sausages makers.”

The Best Foodservice Sausage Award was won in the traditional category by CMB Foods for its CMB Famous Lingfield Pork Sausage. In the innovative section Solent Butchers took the prize with its Pork, Watercress & Pink Peppercorn Sausage. In a tweet Solent said: “We are extremely proud and honoured to have won this award.”
